One of our most visually stunning properties is this 1898 Pierce & Bickford Mansion in Elmira's Historic Near Westside. This beautiful piece of architecture is a state landmark, and every part of the home has elegance in each detail. When we purchased the building in 2013, it had been vacant for about a year, and had most recently been used as a doctors office. The building's incredible center hallway made for a natural division of two apartments on each of the two floors, one bedrooms on the east side, and two bedrooms on the west side. We took no shortcuts with this building, painstakingly making every detail perfect. Some upgrades include locally-made cherry cabinetry for the designer kitchens, a jacuzzi tub/shower in each unit, hardwood and marble flooring, and working fireplaces in each of the living rooms and primary bedrooms. We also installed new heating and air conditioning systems, restored the original hardwood floors, and preserved valuable architecture such as the ceiling molds, incredible fireplaces, woodwork and fixtures. Extensive work was done on the exterior of the home as well.
