This grand Dutch Colonial was built in 1868, and when we purchased the property in 2011, it had been vacant for some time. It had remained a single family home up until this point, although its massive, awkward layout likely contributed to its disuse. We converted the home into an upper and lower apartment, and both sprawling units feature 2-3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms completely rebuilt, brand-new kitchens with all new cabinetry, appliances, and more practical layouts, laundry closets. We highlighted the remaining architectural elements wherever possible, and other new features include custom lighting, gleaming hardwood flooring, and crown molding.
