Our Properties

This modest colonial-styled home was built in 1870 for Elijah P. Brooks. In 1905, it was sold to Judge Charles Brown Swartwood, an 1897 graduate of Cornell's Law School. He was twice elected Chemung County Judge and was a member of numerous civic and social groups. His widow lived in the home until 1932, and the building was converted into three apartments in 1975. The second floor features two modestly-sized one bedroom apartments, and the first floor apartment boasts two bedrooms, a spacious and sunny living room, and even a private sitting porch.

We purchased this building in 2023, and fully renovated the first floor apartment. Outdated paneling was removed and lighting was dramatically improved, in addition to a brand new kitchen and bathroom, fresh new appliances, and other minor layout changes to maximize storage while optimizing for modern living.
