Our Properties

This modest Italianate house was built in 1876 for Edmond V. Parker, first a job-printer at 223 W. Water Street in 1882, and later a commercial traveler. During his occupancy, M. Belle York dressmaker, had her business there. From 1923 to 1955, Mary Dates owned and occupied this house, where she operated the Dates Beauty Shop. In 1940, she converted the house into four apartments; three 1-bedrooms and one studio. Other occupants have included an employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad, an employee of Willy-Morrow Co., employee of the Elmira Water, Light and Railroad Co., proprietor of the Handy Shop, an insurance agent, ball player and stenographer of the Empire Product Co. We purchased this property in 2014, and it features new oak kitchens, updated bathrooms, laminate flooring, and a laundry center. All utilities are included in this building's rent!
